Edwardian embroidered dress
Exquisite early 1900's, Edwardian era handmade mixed batiste cotton and silk net embroidered lawn gown. Whitework embroidery and pintucks, such intricate handwork, silk net sleeves. Found in a trunk in Birmingham, AL unworn. A work of wearable, historical art. This was restored by Birmingham native Maryon Allen, who restored antique clothing for a living, after retiring from being a US senator. She died in 2018. Tag reads,"Cliff House Maryon Allen Birmingham, Alabama".
Would be amazing as a wedding dress.
Model is a size small, we recommend at least 1.5 inch of wiggle room in antique garments as you do not want this to be tight.
Bust 34 - 36
Note: back is meant to be open as shown in the pictures, She sewed in some newer snaps on the inside of the back, which are not functional and can be taken out.
Mint condition, seriously amazing for age.
